Introducing you to one of our favourite brands: FAO Schwarz! Originally named ‘Toy Bazaar’, this popular store was founded in Baltimore in 1862 by Frederick August Otto Schwarz. 8 years later, Schwarz opened the iconic New York City location: ‘Schwarz Toy Bazaar’. You might recognize this toy-abundant store from its feature in the 1992 movie: Home Alone 2, where it was used to portray a retailer: ‘Duncan’s Toy Chest’. Now, the store has become a sensation both online and in-store for their limitless range of toys for young boys and girls of all ages. One of FAO Schwarz’ popular categories is ‘STEM’, toys that encourage and assist in developing creative thinking, an essential quality for future learning. ‘Creative’ toys are also quite popular at FAO Schwarz, namely the 3D Spin Art or the Jewellery Making Designer Kit, which can also be found at our shop.
